Happy Monday, friends! I hope this first official full week of February serves you well. We’ve just come off an extreme weather alert here in the city, where we were experiencing the coldest temperatures we had seen in years! And although the cold alert has officially ended, it’s still freezing out there. So I really hope you’re staying safe and warm as you go about your week.
To bring a little more warmth and joy to your days, here’s a new wallpaper you can use to dress your tech this month. I’ve designed this month’s wallpaper with soft watercolour violets. I just learned that the violet is February’s birth flower (the violet and the primrose, actually). I always just assumed it was the red rose because of the whole Valentine’s Day thingy, but nope, it’s the violet.
Aren’t violets the sweetest?? Every time I see one, I instantly think of my grandfather because he would commonly come home with a little pot of these purple blooms to give to my grandmother throughout the year – for no particular reason other than to make her happy. I can still see them lined up along the window sill in the living room upstairs. The cutest ever 😭
Violets are also said to symbolize humbleness, faithfulness, and everlasting love. And when given as a gift can mean you’ll always be there for that person. Just some little violet facts for your Monday morning : )
