Lest We Forget — Today is Remembrance Day, a day to honour our veterans, to thank them for their bravery and sacrifice, and a day to remember those who lost their lives while fighting to keep ours free.
It’s a day to pause, have a moment of silence and to promise to never forget. It’s so important that we never forget.
Remembrance Day also serves as a reminder of all the ways we can give back and support our veterans every day of the year.

And I couldn’t end this post without including this powerful poem by Canadian physician Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae. In Flanders Fields was written by him during the First World War.
I vividly remember learning and reciting this poem as a young child in elementary school. And as the years go by, the words grow heavier with meaning.
In Flanders Fields
A Poem By John McCrae
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
Have a happy Wednesday, friends. xx, Amanda
