Canada Day 2021: A Day of Reflection

How will you be reflecting this Canada Day 2021? This year, with the recent discoveries of more than 1,000 unmarked graves and the remains of hundreds of children at former residential school sites, many are choosing to use this day to reflect on our nation’s past rather than to celebrate. Today is a day to mourn the lives lost, to educate ourselves about Canada’s horrific violent history, to acknowledge the injustices that still remain, and to support and stand in solidarity with Indigenous communities. I will be reflecting today. If you’re looking for a place to start as you reflect,…

Strawberry Jam With Maple Syrup

Have you tried making strawberry jam with maple syrup? It’s delicious! With Canada Day quickly approaching, the grocery stores are filled with all things Canadian, and good ol’ maple syrup is always front and centre. I love maple syrup! Don’t you?? It’s so good in so many ways. The first that comes to mind is overtop my pancakes in the morning, but there are countless other ways to enjoy this sweet yumminess. Here are a few ways to enjoy maple syrup: Drizzled over waffles, french toast, pancakes (a classic for a reason!) Drizzled over roasted veggies Drizzled over ice cream…

Red And White Canada Day Cheese Board

What better way to celebrate our nation’s birthday than with a red and white Canada Day cheese board?? I’ve been seeing all these beautiful American red, white, and blue boards online for the Fourth of July (check out this adorable American flag snack tray by thediaryofadebutante.com!), and it inspired me to make my very own Canadian version. How cute is this idea? I love cheese boards. They’re so easy to put together. They always come out looking great. You really don’t have to be an expert in the kitchen to pull them off. They’re impossible to mess up. Cheese boards…

A Night In Paris (Ontario)

Voted the Prettiest Little Town in Canada, Paris, Ontario is a place I really hope to visit this summer. In just over an hour’s drive away from Toronto, and with a title like that, it’s no wonder this town is number one on my destination list this season. I mean, don’t we all just want to go to Paris?? 🙂 With COVID restrictions slowly starting to loosen, I’ve got the serious travel bug. I can’t wait to get out and explore. I love my city, but I’ve been starting to feel especially cramped and claustrophobic as I look around at…

The Tory Burch Semi-Annual Sale 2021: My Favourite Finds

The Tory Burch Semi-Annual Sale 2021 is happening right now! That means you can enjoy an extra 25 percent off all sale items with the promo code “EXTRA.” That’s right, 25% on already discounted items – that’s some good savings! If you’re new to Tory Burch and wondering what style you’ll find when looking through their website, think “preppy-bohemian luxe” – that’s what it’s been described as. I like to think of it as preppy meets pretty – a beautiful combination, I think. When I’m looking for wardrobe staples that I want to wear again and again, I always give…
